Fountain Component Kits | List of Piping, Valves, Filters, and Wear Parts

Components are the most inconspicuous yet most frequently replaced parts of a fountain. Nozzles, pumps, and lights determine how attractive a fountain looks, while piping, valves, filters, and seals determine whether it can operate stably over the long term. Opting for accessories of a lower grade in terms of material and specifications often results in exponentially more repairs down the line. Huiqi Fountains has been manufacturing fountain equipment since 2007 and provides complete sets of accessories as well as original manufacturer spare parts support.

Location of Components in a Fountain System

Accessories ThroughoutFeed End and Protection End: Piping delivers water from the pump to each nozzle; valves control distribution and isolate sections for maintenance; filters trap impurities; and electrical components ensure the safety of underwater equipment. While they do not directly produce visual effects, they form the foundation of the system’s reliability—the vast majority of fountain malfunctions can ultimately be traced back to one of these components.

SegmentMain ComponentsRole in the System
Feed EndStainless steel pipes, flanges, elbows, and couplingsDistributing flow to each nozzle determines the frictional loss
Control EndGate Valves, Butterfly Valves, Check Valves, Solenoid ValvesRegulate flow, prevent backflow, and isolate the system for maintenance
Water Quality EndpointFilters, Hair Collectors, Chemical Dosing SystemsTraps impurities and protects the spray nozzle and water pump

Major Parts Categories

They are divided into five categories based on function. In engineering projects, they are typically supplied as complete, integrated packages to avoid mixing specifications and materials from different batches or manufacturers, which could create potential problems for future maintenance.

Key Considerations for Selecting Components

Pipe diameter is calculated based on flow velocity, not on empirical estimates.

Keep the flow rate within the optimal range. If the pipe diameter is too small, it will result in insufficient pressure at the end points and uneven water jet heights, which will be difficult to correct later on.

The material is the same as that of the main unit.

The materials used for pipes and valves should be of the same grade as those used for the spray heads and pumps. Using lower-grade materials together can cause galvanic corrosion, with the joints being the first to fail.

The filtration precision must match the spray nozzle.

The filtration precision must be finer than the smallest flow passage in the nozzle; otherwise, clogging is inevitable. In locations with poor water quality, the filtration grade should be increased.

Valves must be capable of isolating groups

Maintenance valves are installed by zone, allowing for the isolation and repair of a single-unit failure without having to shut down the entire system and drain it.

Don't Skimp on Submarine Cables and Connectors

Underwater joints are the most common points of failure. Specialized waterproof connectors and waterproof cables must be used, and the joints must be sealed in accordance with specifications.

Keep a stock of wear-and-tear parts

Seals, spray nozzle inserts, and mechanical seals should always be kept in stock. While these parts have a low unit price, the cost of downtime is high, so waiting until they break before purchasing them is the least cost-effective approach.

Key Technical Specifications

Frequently Asked Questions

What components are included in a fountain kit?

These are divided into five categories based on function: piping and fittings, valves, filtration and water treatment equipment, electrical and protective accessories, and consumables such as seals. In engineering applications, these are typically supplied as complete, integrated packages to avoid mixing different specifications and materials.

How do you determine the pipe diameter?

Calculate based on flow rate and economic flow velocity, rather than relying on empirical estimates. If the pipe diameter is too small, it will result in excessive frictional losses and insufficient pressure at the end of the line, which manifests as inconsistent spray patterns from the end-of-line sprinklers; this issue is very difficult to correct after construction is complete.

How often should the filter be cleaned?

This depends on water quality and filtration precision. For new projects, it is recommended to initially operate on a shorter cycle, monitor the pressure differential and clogging conditions, and then adjust to a fixed cycle. The cycle should be shortened during periods of poor water quality or in seasons when algae are likely to grow.

Can the parts be purchased separately?

Yes. Original manufacturer parts are available for separate purchase, including wear parts such as seals, spray nozzle cores, and mechanical seals. We recommend setting aside a set of inventory based on the wear parts list upon project delivery to avoid downtime while waiting for parts.

Can pipes made of different materials be used together?

Not recommended. Contact between different grades of stainless steel or dissimilar metals can cause galvanic corrosion, with the joint area typically being the first to fail. The piping material should be the same as that of the spray nozzles and the pump body.

Can we just replace parts when renovating an old project?

It depends on the situation. If the nozzles, pump, and main body of the lighting fixture are still in good condition, replacing the piping, valves, filters, and seals is usually sufficient to restore performance; however, if the main equipment has reached the end of its service life or if water pattern requirements have changed after replacement, the overall configuration must be reviewed accordingly.
